15.10.2014 Novoroslesexport Commences Berth Reconstruction

Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port Group (NCSP Group or the Group) (LSE: NCSP, Moscow Exchange: NMTP) announces that PJSC Novoroslesexport, a company of NCSP Group, has engaged OOO PortGidroSroi as general contractor, and commenced works under the first stage of the project to refurbish berths 28A, 28, 29, and 30 at the port of Novorossiysk. First stage of the project will cost 232 million rubles and shall be completed in 223 calendar days.


«Reconstruction of the berths will enable PJSC Novoroslesexport to service ships of larger displacement, while adding more transshipment equipment shall speed up cargo operations and reduce service time per ship. In the beginning of 2013 PJSC Novoroslesexport installed two new Liebherr LHM-550 mobile cranes, and in the future plans to add another STS crane to the who existing installations.

Eventually, when reconstruction of berths and cargo yards is completed, PJSC Novoroslesexport may reach design throughput capacity of 500 thousand TEU for container cargo versus current 300 thousand TEU», – said Albert Likholet, CEO of PJSC Novoroslesexport.


When the first stage of reconstructing berths 28A and 28 is completed, PJSC Novoroslesexport will be able to handle ships up to 200 meters long and 32.2 meters wide at these berths.


Berths reconstruction project is implemented in the framework of PJSC NCSP’s participation in the government programs to develop the transportation industry and complex projects Reconstruction and Modernization of Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port and Development of Novorossiysk Transportation Hub.
