20.05.2016 NCSP Group Volumes up 5.3% y-on-y to 49.9 mln tonnes for 4M 2016

NCSP Group (LSE: NCSP, MOEX: NMTP) hereby reports, that its consolidated cargo turnover in January-April 2016 grew 5.3% year on year and reached 49.9 million tonnes.


Liquid cargo volumes totaled 39 million tonnes, bulk cargo comprised 4.2 million tonnes, general cargo amounted to 4.9 million tonnes, and container cargo totaled 1.8 million tonnes or 170 thousand TEU.


Commenting on the operating results for 4M 2016, CEO of PJSC NCSP Sultan Batov said: «At the end of four months of 2016 we increased volumes growth rates up to 5.3% year-on-year and outperformed the plan by 14%, while for Q1 2016 these metrics stood at 4.0% and 12%».


Liquid Cargo


Liquid cargo volumes totaled 38 982 thousand tonnes in 4M 2016, up 3.1% year-on-year.

Crude oil volumes in the reporting period increased by 1 256 thousand tonnes or 4.8% year on year and totaled 27 281 thousand tonnes. Oil products volumes in the reporting period comprised 11 383 thousand tonnes. Transshipment of UAN grew 18.5% year-on-year up to 203 thousand tonnes, seed oils volumes totaled 115 thousand tonnes.


Bulk Cargo


Transshipment of bulk cargo in January-April 2016 rose by 887 thousand tonnes or 27% year-on-year, and reached 4 175 thousand tonnes.

Gain volumes increased by 494 thousand tonnes or 29.6% year-on-year and reached 2 160 thousand tonnes. Annual growth rate accelerated by 5 percent points versus that of Q1 2016.

Transshipment of iron ore grew by 477 thousand tonnes or 106.8% year-on-year and comprised 923 thousand tonnes, while industry’s total volumes grew 1.8 times according to ASOP.

Coal volumes grew 6.2% year-on-year to 509 thousand tonnes. Volumes of chemical cargo and sugar totaled 335 thousand tonnes and 249 thousand tonnes respectively.


General Cargo


General cargo in 4M 2016 totaled 4 902 thousand tonnes, up 5.2% year-on-year.

Volumes of ferrous metals and pig iron increased by 370 thousand tonnes or 9.4% year-on-year and reached 4 286 thousand tonnes, while industry’s total volumes grew 6.6% year-on-year, according to ASOP. Annual growth rate accelerated by 3.1 percent points versus that of Q1 2016.

Transshipment of non-ferrous metals, timber, perishable cargo, and other cargo totaled 360 thousand tonnes, 157 thousand tonnes, and 100 thousand tonnes respectively.


Container Cargo


NCSP Group’s container traffic in January-April 2016 totaled 1 827 thousand tonnes or 170 thousand TEU, growing 13.8% year-on-year in tonnes or 8.0% year-on-year in TEU.
