12.07.2016 NCSP Group’s Volumes Grow 6% year-on-year for 6M 2016 Reaching 74.4 mln tons

NCSP Group (LSE: NCSP, MOEX: NMTP) hereby reports that its consolidated cargo turnover for the first six months of 2016 increased 6.0% year-on-year and reached 74.4 million tons.

Liquid cargo volumes increased 5.3% year-on-year to 58.3 million tons, bulk cargo rose 5.9% year-on-year to 5.6 million tons, general cargo increased 11.2% year-on-year to 7.8 million tons, container traffic was up 7.5% year-on-year and amounted to 2.7 million tons or 252 thousand TEU.

Commenting on the operating results for H1 2016 CEO of PJSC NCSP Sultan Batov said: «NCSP Group’s volumes have demonstrated sustainable growth throughout the first half of the year 2016. Actual transshipment exceeded our conservative plans by 14.5%. On year-on-year basis we were down 6% in January, showed 2.3% increase in February, and completed the first half of the year with 6% growth. Growth was recorded in segments like crude oil, coal, ferrous metals, and containers. Iron ore showed the biggest relative growth of 60.4% year-on-year».

Liquid cargo

Liquid cargo volumes increased by 2 925 thousand tons or 5.3% year-on-year and totaled 58 261 thousand tons for H1 2016. Crude oil volumes were up by 2 849 thousand tons or 7.5% year-on-year and totaled 41 035 thousand tons. Oil products, UAN, and vegetable oils volumes totaled 16 787 thousand tons, 304 thousand tons, and 134 thousand tons respectively.

Bulk cargo

Bulk cargo increased by 312 thousand tons or 5.9% year-on-year totaling 5 575 thousand tons for H1 2016.

Grain volumes totaled 2 422 thousand tons. Low transshipment of grain in May and June 2016 is due to shortage of grain in the market while supplies of the season 2015-2016 have ceased and the grain of new harvest is yet to come.

Chemical cargo and sugar volumes totaled 522 thousand tons and 391 thousand tons respectively.

Iron ore volumes increased by 541 thousand tons or 60.4% year-on-year reaching 1 436 thousand tons.

Transshipment of coal was growing at an accelerating pace and reached 804 thousand tons for six month of 2016. Growth rate sped up to 12.3% year-on-year versus 8.4% for January-May 2016.

General cargo

General cargo volumes increased by 787 thousand tons or 11.2% year-on-year and totaled 7 824 thousand tons for H1 2016.

Transshipment of ferrous metals and pig iron is growing at a fastening rate reaching 6 849 thousand tons for H1 2016. Growth rate accelerated to 16.3% year-on-year versus that of 11.5% for five months of 2016.

Timber, non-ferrous metals, perishable cargo, and other cargo comprised 249 thousand tons, 556 thousand tons, and 139 thousand tons respectively.

Container cargo

NCSP Group’s container traffic in H1 2016 totaled 2 741 thousand tons or 252 thousand TEU, increasing 7.5% and 4.6% year-on-year respectively.
