13.12.2021 NCSP Group's consolidated cargo turnover for 10M 2021 grows 2.9% YoY

NCSP Group’s (LSE: NCSP, MOEX: NMTP) cargo turnover totals 95.5 million tonnes.

Liquid cargo

"Transshipment of liquid cargo was up by 2.3 million tons (+3.2%) to 76.1 million tonnes. Volumes of oil products transshipment rose by 2 million tons (7.4%)," commented Sergey Kireev, General Director of PJSC NCSP. Crude oil also reflected a slight upward trend in this segment — an increase of 0.4 million tonnes (0.9%) — amid the growth of transshipment through Primorsk.

Dry cargo

Dry cargo transshipment surged by 2.1% to 19.3 million tonnes. "The drivers behind this growth were mostly containers, as well as raw sugar and chemical and perishable cargo," noted Sergey Kireev.

- Turnover of containers grew to 3.9 million tonnes (+6.8% / 0.2 million tonnes ) mainly due to higher transshipment volumes at the BSC LLC terminal. The growth rates of cargo turnover (TEU) across NCSP Group amounted to 23%, 17 p.p. higher than in the industry as a whole.

- Raw sugar cargo turnover was up 11.5 times compared to last year and amounted to 0.7 million tonnes. This is thanks to the improved demand from CIS Asian countries for imported raw sugar for processing against the backdrop of a decrease in exports of Russian white sugar.

- Chemical cargo transshipment touched 1 million tonnes (+65.4% / 0.4 million tonnes) due to growing exports of fertilizers at the direct option. In the meantime, the turnover of chemical cargo dropped by 2.7% industrywide.

- Volumes of perishable cargo transshipment improved to 0.2 million tonnes (+78.7% / 0.1 million tonnes).
