NCSP Group's throughput up 2.3%, some 14m tons this Jan.-Feb

In January-February this year Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port Group transshipped 14 mln 54.5 thousand tons, a 2.3% rise over the same period 2009. Box volumes of the Group also grew by 29 percent, to 46.300 TEUs, the NCSP statement said.

 
Transshipment of general cargoes in the reporting period increased by 15.1% from the last year's figures, up to 1 mln 899.1 thousand tons. There was a positive 20.8% gain in ferrous metals volumes, at 1.500.300 tons. The Company handled 173.000 tons of timber cargo, a 85.1 percent surge over Jan-Feb, 2009. Volumes of perishable goods increased by 49.2%, to 44.500 tons. However, the Group's statistics for Jan/Feb, 2010 show a 10.2% and 87.9% decline in non-ferrous metals and iron, respectively.

 
This year's volumes of bulk cargo are up 3.9% over January-February 2009, reaching 2.084.400 tons. The NCSP handled 1.459.500 tons of grain, 26.4% more than in Jan/Feb, 2009, 184.500 tons of raw sugar, (+9.3%), 337.400 tons of mineral fertilizers, (+44.7%). There was a 76.5 percent drop in iron exports volume, to 103.000 tons, the NCSP statement said.

In the two months of this year the Group has seen a slight 1.2 percent cut in liquid bulk cargoes, at 9.672.600 tons.

 

Meanwhile, volumes of carbamide-ammonia mixtures are gradually increasing, showing this Jan.-Feb. almost a threefold rise over the last year's numbers. Throughput of petroleum products gained 12.5%, to 2.490.100 tons, while the shipment of crude oil declined by 6.2%, to 7.042.100 tons.

 
Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port is the largest Russian port operator. Last year's throughput of NCSP Group totaled 86.5 mln tons. Consolidated revenue of the Group on International Financial Reporting Standards for the 9 months of 2009 amounted to $508.238 mln.
